Originally from Manchester, Adam is a dynamic and versatile guitarist and educator. Having begun his musical studies from an early age on the classical guitar he has developed in a wide range of musical styles over the years and has had the opportunity to tour in bands playing contemporary music throughout the UK and parts of the USA.

He has been able to perform and formally train with world-class guitarists having spent time studying in prominent institutions in the UK, Spain, and the USA and holds a BMus in Music performance and an MMus in music performance from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music in London where he was gratefully supported as a scholar by the Ann Driver Trust.

Alongside his performing career, Adam is a passionate educator. He has over 10 years of teaching experience and enjoys teaching students of all levels from beginner to grade 8+ and beyond, in various styles from electric guitar to classical and Spanish guitar. He holds an LTCL teaching diploma from Trinity College London and has numerous workshops under his belt from Dalcroze eurhythmics to the Alexander technique.

Alison Evans studied piano with Marjorie Hazlehurst in Birmingham and Stephen Coombs in London. She graduated from Oxford and is a freelance chamber musician and piano teacher. 

Alison specialises in accompaniment, but her background encompasses a wide range of musical activity. In other roles, she has worked for the Barbican Centre and two major symphony orchestras, and for the Lost Musicals series at the Barbican and in the West End. She now teaches at the Conservatoire and privately in South East London.

Andrew Sleightholme read music at Oxford University and studied piano with Niel Immelman of the Royal College College of Music. He is a freelance piano, keyboard and synthesiser player in a diverse range of musical genres from classical to pop to theatre.

Andrew is the keyboard player for the New-Folk ensemble Mishaped Pearls, with whom he has regularly toured France and performed in numerous festivals and venues throughout the UK as well as live on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 6 Music, and also on French radio and television. Amongst other performances, Andrew played synthesiser for the UK première of Philip Glass and Robert Moran’s opera The Juniper Tree, has composed, performed and directed the music for Shakespeare : The Puppet Show at the V&A Museum, and was Musical Director for performances of The Glass Menagerie at Drama Centre, London. He is fluent in French and also holds a counselling diploma. Andrew has taught piano and music theory at Blackheath Conservatoire for over 10 years, and has nurtured the talents of children and adults alike, of all ages and abilities from complete beginners to advanced players.

Angus has been teaching music for over thirty years, teaching in schools, Art projects and privately. He has been a keyboard tutor at the Conservatoire for over 15 years.

He also teaches guitar. He studied at Goldsmiths, specializing in Jazz and popular music. Angus has worked with people of all ages that have learning difficulties and Special needs, and has toured with musical theatre companies over the years, also playing in various bands, playing different genres of music.

He likes to put the emphasis of having fun whilst learning to play an instrument, being relaxed in his approach.

Aram Bahmaie is a guitarist and bassist originally from Guildford, now living in London.

He moved to Birmingham to study Jazz Bass at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, graduating in 2018. Since then, he has played in a variety of musical settings across the country, including Big Bands and Jazz Orchestras and improvised music.

As a teacher, he wants to ensure that all students develop an enthusiasm and seriousness towards music.

Ben is a recent graduate of Trinity Laban Conservatoire with a first class honours degree in music performance. As a freelance drummer/percussionist he is in great demand with a variety of artists and ensembles, playing a wide range of styles:

Jazz and Big Band; Grime and Hip Hop; Musical Theatre; Latin Percussion and Drums; Indie Rock; Pop; Afrobeat; Classical Orchestral.

Artists and venues include, Broken Wings Musical at Charing Cross Theatre, the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant at Buckingham Palace, Big Smoke Brass - UK at Capital FM and O2 Islington2, British Youth Music Theatre company 2022, Yorkshire Young Sinfonia at Leeds Town Hall, Musicians Inc at Sky Garden, the Brixton Chamber Orchestra, the Montreux Jazz Festival, The Royal Albert Hall and other shows, pantomimes and opera.

Ben has been teaching in London for 3 years and is looking forward to working with students at The Conservatoire!

Ben Ramsden is an award winning Yorkshire-born, London-based composer and pianist. He studied at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance under Errollyn Wallen CBE and Stephen Montague.

He writes pieces that sit at a crossroads between different genres that together create a larger, more inclusive middle. Being equally interested in classical and other popular styles of music, he’s developed a unique sound world, playing style and repertoire that has allowed him the opportunity to have premieres and performances all over the country.

Although he primarily studied Composition, Ben had a secondary focus on Piano Performance. Originally self taught aged 15, he realised the importance of getting a teacher who could help bolster his playing with good technique and exercises to further his talent. Because of his unique piano origins, Ben has created a warm, friendly teaching style, with strong emphasis on playing and techniques, scales and theory. He’s also taught a wide range of students, his oldest being 90! Some piano performance highlights include Theatre Royal Stratford East, Blackheath Halls, Huddersfield Town Hall, and Vaults Festival.

As a composer, Ben has had a lucrative career since graduation, writing music for stage, theatre and dance. He was the recipient of Trinity Laban’s most prestigious prize, The Gold Medal, which led to a premiere of his large-scale string orchestra and electronics work, To Care, at Southbank Centre in 2019. He was also awarded The Director’s Prize of Achievement for this accolade. He continues to write frequently, having scored recently for theatre productions at the Edinburgh Fringe, Vaults Festival and Lyric Hammersmith, and for dance in Resolutions at The Place.

Ana is a French Horn player, brass and piano teacher and educator based in South East London. She completed her Master of Arts in French Horn performance at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in 2018, graduating with a Merit.

A year before she graduated from Murcia’s Music Conservatoire Manuel Massotti Littel with a degree in French Horn performance, where she also studied piano. She performs across the United Kingdom and Spain with various ensembles, bands and orchestras. Before moving over to London, Ana studied a teaching degree and is a qualified primary school teacher, with the qualified teacher status from Department of Education (UK).

In 2021 Ana also became a qualified Yoga Teacher, using her time wisely during the lockdown to pursue one of her keen interests. Ana teaches in London and also teaches online to students in Spain, Austria, Ireland, as well as the United Kingdom. She combines music and yoga as the majority of her students are musicians themselves.

Barney Anderson is a kind, patient and supportive teacher with experience playing and teaching a wide range of musical styles from Jazz, Rock, Folk and Classical. He also has experience preparing students for ABRSM, Trinity and Rock School graded exams.

Barney takes a holistic approach to his teaching, recognizing that all students learn in a unique way and encourages his students to develop their own musical interests. 

Barney studied on the Jazz programme at Trinity Laban Conservatoire where he received a First Class Honours and has performed at venues such as the Vortex Jazz Club. He leads a Septet for which he composes and arranges all the music and gigs often as a session player for a wide range of projects.
